Quaibrücke Zürich

Drop-shaped special masts with bridge consoles, special moulding for luminaire fixtures.

In 2015, the city of Zurich decided to rework the Quaibrücke over the Limmat. In the course of this project, the old bridge fittings were removed in order to be replaced by new products that are more suited to the times. This included the anchor pylons and candelabras, which are now cleverly arranged on the outer side of the bridge to provide more space for pedestrians and cyclists. To this end, the masts were affixed to large, heavy special consoles. The aesthetically unique masts and matching consoles were designed especially for this project by landscape architects VULKAN and developed, produced and installed by BURRI.

More than 40 years after the creation of the original masts, candelabras and lighting by the second generation of BURRI, the fourth generation of BURRI was awarded the contract for the new Quaibrücke.
