Where paths lead to stories – new signage in Grindelwald

Grindelwald is one of Switzerland's most famous destinations, attracting thousands of visitors to the mountain village every day. Together with evoq communications AG and Grindelwald Tourism, BURRI developed and implemented a pedestrian guidance system that not only intelligently directs visitor flows, but also makes the identity of the glacier village visible and tangible.

The new signage system not only provides clear orientation, but also brings visitors closer to culture, history, and tradition. The various steles with detailed village maps form the gateway to the digital world of Grindelwald: QR codes take guests to an interactive map with all tourist attractions. The system is complemented by seating areas, a large information wall at the train station, and eye-catching red signposts.

Designed in the colors of the Jungfrau Region, with wooden elements and lovingly crafted details, the signage reflects the connection between nature, village, and tradition. Each stele tells a story—from the first ascent of the Eiger North Face to the construction of the Jungfrau Railway. It is a project that combines orientation, experience, and identity, highlighting Grindelwald's uniqueness.
