Since 1937, we have also had a substantial role in shaping the public road space. In the area of street lighting, we introduced the conical steel tube candelabra to Switzerland and later also developed the first angular- and T-masts, as well as entire signal gantries for road signalling. When first introduced, our complex electro-mechanical systems such as hydraulically lowerable motorway guardrails were unique the world over, and to this day they are still in use.
