The Superkilen project in Copenhagen was designed by TOPOTEK 1, BIG and Superflex. The park is home to culturally representative urban elements from over 60 countries. Street furniture, playground equipment, sculptures and lighting all combine to form a culture riot.
Superkilen is in Nørrebro, a traditionally multicultural neighborhood offering a communal space for passers-by, cyclists, skaters and children playing. Switzerland is represented by two classic BURRI products: a special version of the popular Landi bench with its reversible backrest, as well as chess and draughts tables.
In 2016 the Aga Khan Award for Architecture was given to this project amongst six other international projects.
