New city square in Meilen
Meilen project: Mezzetino Bench with and without backrest, snaking bench
Meilen is located directly on Lake Zurich, and with approximately 13,000 inhabitants, it is almost a small town.
Despite this, the feeling is of a village – also thanks to the redesign of the centre in 2015, which included a new town square, café bar, community hall and car park. These now form the generous, attractive and functional centre of the municipality of Meilen.
The Mezzetino benches were first erected in the town square in Meilen. Mezzetino fits unobtrusively into the historical and modern architectural context. The floating backrests without additional centre console lend the Mezzetino a uniquely light and elegant look. High seating comfort is ensured by the ergonomic design of the seating surfaces and backrests.
Discreetly concealed special connections form a supporting structure and ensure the stability of the wood. Complementing the Mezzetino in the nearby playground is a snaking bench with steam bent solid wood slats.
