Uni Millennium with predetermined breaking point and matching traffic signage

New bollards for Berneck

The bollards and traffic sign masts not only fit impeccably in terms of visual appearance, they also convince with their technical refinements.

The Civil Engineering Department of the canton of St. Gallen requested new bollards for the municipality of Berneck. Engineering bureau Gruner Wepf AG was responsible for the planning, and enlisted the help of BURRI. What BURRI brought to the table was technical finesse, flexibility and an aptitude for design.

BURRI got the process off the ground with a sample bollard. The follow-up consultations served to particularise the commission and to once again underline the advantages of the bollards.

The Civil Engineering Department ultimately ordered a series of Uni Millennium bollards, all with bayonet twist locks and predetermined breaking points. In the case of traffic damage, the predetermined breaking point is easily replaceable, doing away with the need for expensive and laborious civil engineering works. The bollards and traffic sign masts not only fit impeccably in terms of visual appearance, but are also flexible in application. Both items feature an identical base. Berneck is thus free to choose where to position bollards or masts. BURRI fitted all of the bollards with cylinder locks, which were supplied by the contractor.

The traffic sign masts were specially produced to accommodate the specific customer requirements. The system is based on the signage bollards used at Zurich Airport.
