Manufactured to match the look and feel of the airport
Monitor steles in Baggage Reclaim 2 at Zurich Airport
Travellers can see Public Elements® every few metres at Zurich Airport. From signage to advertising technology all the way to cordoning, shop fronts and more. More recently, BURRI had the honour of realising a further project for the airport.
BURRI developed the monitor steles together with the company Clear Channel with a design based on the existing mounting supports for the info monitors.
For precise planning, BURRI undertook a series of extensive measuring tasks on site (levelling), thus enabling any inclines on the floors and covering to be incorporated into the construction. The laser-welded steel columns with dimensions of 180x70mm are specially manufactured for the airport. To match the look of the airport, the monitor steles are powder-coated with the colour RAL 7016 anthracite grey.
The installation was carried out by BURRI.
The existing metal covers (aluminium honeycomb panels) for the columns were cut out directly at the airport. A bevelled beam element between the columns serves to stabilise the stele. A robust sheet metal construction is used to mount the 86'' monitors. BURRI lasered Swiss crosses into the carrier frame, which saves weight, ensures the flow of air and underlines the 'Swissness'. Thanks to precise planning, impeccable work and good communication, it was possible to complete the project on schedule.
