The architecture of the bus station, designed by Mario Botta, features clean lines with its construction of frosted glass and metal. Swiss designer Daniel Hunziker adds a new dimension to the infrastructure with STAZIONE: it integrates precisely, timelessly, and functionally into the space and enriches it with high-end seating. The bench’s design is a subtle tribute to Mies van der Rohe’s “Barcelona Daybed” and reflects the architectural elements of its surroundings. Its distinctive feature: a cylindrical backrest made of solid native Douglas fir, whose surface has been refined through a resin removal process—for long-lasting comfort without resin leakage. Robust, elegant, and well-thought-out for public spaces: the dual-sided design provides flexibility, making it ideal for bus and train stations. The bench can be used from both sides. The optional backrest allows for either use as a leaning bench or enhanced seating comfort. High-quality materials and precise craftsmanship guarantee a long lifespan—even with intensive use in public spaces.
