The architect Kai Flender developed an entire product family, the HOCH.BAU.KASTEN®, for the tram stop infrastructure that BURRI implemented for the Glattalbahn. The various elements of this product family form a uniform urban-planning strategy.
The main materials involved are powder-coated (anti-graffiti) steel, aluminium and toughened/laminated safety glass with special screen print. The modular fittings integrated loud-speakers, light boxes, info-boxes, special lights, waste bins, ticket machines, caverns and ventilation tubes etc. with added special railings, bicycle racks and lavatories etc. allow a high level of flexibility and, together with the uniform \"signature\" of the materials, ensure that the tram stops have a uniform appearance throughout the urban scenery.
