BURRI developed this casing and freestanding stele for large monitors on behalf of ead, a subsidiary of the outdoor advertising company Affichage Holding SA. This form of outdoor utilization of the ‘digital poster’ is unique in Europe. The challenges posed by – and mastered – in these 1.8 x 1.2m, 250Kg screens is thermal management, ventilation and the development of a system for combining monitors, poster turning machines and lightboxes. This enables the unit to be used for numerous types of installation.
