If you want to understand public space better, you have to observe it. You have to sense what is going on in it, how and when it is used. Where people stay, how they orientate and move in the space. Sensors are increasingly taking on the role of "observers". They can be used to solve very different tasks. Individual sensors record data on the environment. This can be data on the atmospheric condition (temperature, humidity, pollutants, noise, etc.). On the one hand, this requires knowledge about the design, installation and application of the sensor technology. On the other hand, it is essential to know what the collected data is to be used for. An essential aspect is data protection and the careful handling of data.

BURRI operates sensors in various public spaces that fulfil very different tasks and serve various purposes. The sensor technology CAT (collect and transmit) developed by BURRI itself can be used multifunctionally. The sensors can be integrated into existing or new elements as required. They detect humidity, temperature, ozone concentration, damage, movements, frequency of use, status of condition, etc. In addition, the sensor modules offer the possibility for individual extension functions according to customer requirements.

In the online portal BURRI.digital you manage and direct your objects. For example, limit values with message functions can be set up, etc. You have access to the current data analysis at any time and are informed in real time about relevant changes.

The data obtained on site conditions, user behaviour and the condition of the object form the basis for in-depth analyses. The important insights gained from this in turn flow into the development of existing as well as new products. In addition, they provide the basis for the planning of public space, be it with regard to user behaviour, safety, operation, etc., as well as with regard to the choice of objects and materials for the infrastructure.

Based on this, BURRI Life Cycle Care develops, for example, a well-founded investment plan for the targeted and life cycle-oriented maintenance of your public spaces and the facilities they contain.
