For years, Switzerland’s airports and railway stations have counted
among the most highly frequented parts of the country. It is therefore
no surprise that interest in advertising placement in such locations is
particularly great. On behalf of Zurich Airport, BURRI proved its
ability in the fields of construction and steelwork in the development
of a ‘mega poster’ that is visible from a great distance but
nevertheless does not impact the visual identity of the airport.
The frame consists of a galvanised steel profile, which is supported and anchored on its rear side by the parking deck levels as well as the roof structure. The PVC tarpaulin bearing the crucial advertising image is fastened to the frame using rubbers straps, while a hinged aluminium cladding serves as a cover. The tarpaulin is attached to seven vertical brackets to enable it to withstand high wind pressure. The mega posters are illuminated by halogen spotlights affixed to external masts.
