As part of the roof renovation at the Milchbuck stop, the lighting was redesigned. In collaboration with Max S. (Max Simmendinger GmbH Architects), a lighting concept was developed that highlights the striking roof structure while also meeting the requirements of tram traffic.
The solution is based on individually replaceable luminaires that visually merge into a continuous light band. Prisms and louvres direct the light specifically toward the platform edge and ensure uniform illumination of the transition areas. This improves orientation and safety for passengers without dazzling drivers or people waiting at the stop.
In addition, sensors and dimming reduce light pollution by increasing light intensity only when necessary. In this way, the light band combines functionality, sustainability, and design in a clear architectural statement.
