Light in the dialogue of the epochs

The auditorium at the University of Bern combines historical elements from the 19th century with architectural features from the 1980s. This contrast gave rise to a lighting concept that harmoniously blends both eras.

The focus is on the chandeliers made of anodized fabric in a brass look, whose fine materiality and technical sophistication both reflect the historical dignity of the room and convey a modern design language. Equipped with specially developed light bar optics and light strips, they are complemented by discreet pendant lights that blend harmoniously into the overall picture.

The biggest challenge was to merge complex technology and construction into a harmonious whole. A symbiosis of aesthetics, function, and architectural context.

Working closely with lighting designers vogtpartner and Co. Architekten AG, we succeeded in blending complex technology and construction into a harmonious whole. The result: a successful symbiosis of aesthetics, function, and architecture that bathes the festive space in atmospheric light.
