For Zurich’s Heimatstrasse, the electricity company EWZ embarked on a search for a modern and standard-compliant LED luminaire in a retro look. The decision-makers and residents were ultimately convinced by BURRI’s photos of an earlier project in Andermatt, with the drop-shaped ALLEY luminaire with arched mast in particular proving an instant hit.
From the outset, the client was especially interested in the use of state-of-the-art LED technology as well as variable light distribution with additional wireless capability. Visually, on the other hand, the luminaires and masts would be required to match the ‘nostalgic’ surroundings. This was successful and BURRI was able to devise an aesthetically pleasing solution – even for the antenna.
Throughout, a variety of lens configurations ensure optimal illumination in line with common standards.
The luminaires and arched candelabra were manufactured by BURRI in Glattbrugg using high quality and tested materials.
